Who’s ready for PINOT?!?! I know I sure am – especially when it comes from a single block, made in a TINY amount, by a tremendously skilled team (Thomas Rivers Brown protege AND Vinous’ 2020 Winemaker of the year???)...I mean, what more could you ask for?! 

I know…72% OFF!!! On a 97 POINT phenom, and a vineyard – get this, so cool – that is planted in a Fibonacci Spiral!!! (Caracol means “snail”) Sure, it’s probably more for the variation of sun exposure on this sloped anthill of a parcel…but I can’t get help, but get my Dan Brown on here. I’m tasting this, and it ROCKS obviously, but I’m simultaneously looking for clues of the sacred divine on the label, or mentally wandering off into space with equations floating around my head like those “A Beautiful Mind” memes you see on the internet. Wait…was that an albino in my office?

I digress. This relatively new block of the El Jabali estate was planted in 2015, with a massal selection of various clones from across the estate. In just a few short years, this has already become one of the prized parcels on the vineyard – and one sip is enough to tell you why!!! Dried rose petals, and hibiscus aqua fresca, with black cherries, and ripe strawberries, this gorgeous roasted herb and potpourri medley, with pomegranate molasses, and an iron-laden core that makes this powerful, seductive, and endlessly entrancing.
