Emeritus Vineyards Pinot Noir Hallberg Ranch Russian River Valley 2021

Emeritus Vineyards Pinot Noir Hallberg Ranch Russian River Valley 2021

94 POINTS! Plus triple 93s, one heck of a track record, and one duly famed plot of Pinot Noir…all for UNDER $20!

Did you miss this in the post-BLACK FRIDAY madness? Welp, suit up, Maximus – ‘cause Fate smiles upon you today!!! I love, love, LOVE seeing the name Hallberg Ranch when I crack open a bottle of California Pinot Noir...and boy, howdy...does THIS ever deliver! Hallberg Ranch is one of my very favorite parcels in all of Russian River – an old apple and peach orchard from Prohibition until the year 2000 that was originally used for winemaking back in the late 1800s. Classic RRV power and deeply fruited intensity, with a long finish, and all the twists and turns of complexity along the way…it just swings and swings and almost never misses – like Shohei Ohtani at batting practice.

We’ve featured Emeritus before – and if they weren’t on your Pinot Noir radar before…you need to remedy that IMMEDIATELY! Emeritus was founded by Brice Cutrer Jones (the same year he sold his famed Sonoma-Cutrer winery) and has been quickly hailed as "one of the Russian River's most accomplished Pinot Noir producers" by Tom Hyland of Forbes -- and I'm here to say...you better believe it!!! This estate vineyard bottling is stellar – and if you have ever tasted any of the famed bottlings of this vineyard from the likes of Gary Farrell, Etude, Joseph Jewell, or Martin Ray – you're already loading up your cart! These 750s are sold out at the winery, but don't fret, you can still get 375mLs from them for $25. Or...OR!!! You can bust a move and get the full 750s for UNDER $20 from Last Bottle. Choose wisely!!!

This 2021 is sleek and exuberant with fresh strawberry, black cherry cola, ripe boysenberry, goji berry, rose petal, and decadent chocolate cake. A kiss of coffee bean torrefaction (I love that word) with a whisper of petrichor that lingers long after each sip makes this incredibly unique and stop-you-in-your-tracks delectable. Easily competes (and outclasses) some $100++ Russian River Pinots that have the big names and long waitlists (you know who they are). At our RIDONKULOUS price?! This is a no-brainer, folks.
